Film In School FIS
|
The End |
|
Today June 22, 2007, we went to the UCI Movie Theatre in Tallaght to see the film that our class created called
"Glody's Boots". We made this film as a project for FIS. FIS helps schools with creating short films. There were five
schools involved. Our movie had to be under five minutes long to be entered in the all Ireland FIS competition, but ours
was nine minutes long. The whole project took around four months to complete.
We took a bus to the UCI Cinema in Tallaght. When we arrived we were allowed to get snacks, with the money that we
brought. After that we went into the cinema and took our seats.
Then the presenter, Fintan Keating, started to talk about the FIS project and was thanking various people for their help
with this project and also asking us questions like "what did we learn" and "did we enjoy making our film" then he brought
up the Director of Disney Ireland and she started to thank the children for making the films and for inviting her to the
showing of the films.
Then the presenter introduced the first film and the films began. He continued to introduce each film until they were
finished. Our film was the third one shown. After each film he would ask two pupils from each school to come up and and then
he would present them with certificates for all of the children who were involved in the making of the film and a Trophy
with the name of their film engraved on it. The two people who collected out certificates and trophy were Robert Barret
and Ciaran Brennan.
After all the five schools had received there certificates and trophys it was time to go. We walked out and got onto the
bus to go back to St. Josephs. We arrived back at the school around 1:30pm. Everyone was happy that all the hard work was
finally over and they started to take photos of the trophy that we received.
