St. Joseph's Vs Holy Child
Joeys started like lightening with Glody running at the Holy Child defence, and forcing their Keeper to make a save. But Joeys weren't going to stop at that. Shane Mahon earned a corner. Mark Kavanagh took it and to everyone's surprise he scored. Joey's one up.
Joeys kept on attacking with Shane Mahon and Gary Quinlavin coming close. Holy Child's defence made some life saving tackles. As half time approached Glody hit a piledriver and the Keeper had no chance as the ball ended up in the top corner. With Joeys two nil up, they were the happier side at half time.
After the break Joeys started the way they ended the first half, piling pressure on Holy Child. Joeys wouldn't stop and it all paid off when Glody scored his second and then a third; his hat-trick. But Glody wasn't finished and he scored a fourth. The final score: St. Joseph's 5 Holy Child 0.

St. Joseph's Vs Scoil Colm
Joeys started slow but you know what they say, slowly but surely wins the race.
Scoil Colm took the lead a few minutes into the game. But the fighting spirit of Joeys showed when they responded within two minutes with Glody finding the net. Both Gary and Glody came close but Scoil Colm were playing very well. Scoil Colm won a free kick and converted it. With the score even Joeys kept their heads up and came back at them. Glody took a shot that the Keeper managed to save but Glody crossed it on the rebound and Gary side-footed it into the net. Joeys were hitting their stride as the whole team clicked into gear.
After the break Joeys started like lightening, playing the ball over the top and winning all the tackles that could be won.. Glody soon got his second and within minutes Gary had found the net again. The score was now four two. Hardi was piling on the pressure, winning every ball and playing great passes. As the game continued Scoil Colm looked in trouble and on the rare occassion when they did get forward Joeys defenders easily won the ball.
Every player for Joeys gave 100%, fighting for every ball and it came as no surprise when Hardi planted the ball for their fifth. Within minutes Joeys were forward again and Glody put the ball in the net for his hat-trick. The final score was 6 2, putting Joeys in the final of the Senior Cup.

5 aside Leinster Finals
On the 16 May eight boys went to represent St. Joseph's in the Leinster 5 aside C section finals. The event took place in the MDL grounds in Navan, Co. Meath. There were 5 teams in the final: Dublin North, Carlow, Kilkenny. Louth and us. Our first match was against the Dublin North champions. It was a tight match but we came through winning 3 1. Luckily we had a break between matches.
Our second match was against Dundalk and this time it was a bit easier for us, winning 4 2. The boys played very well, with Glody and Sodiq scoring two goals each. We won our third match 6 2 and this gave us hope as we knew that we were in with a good chance of becoming Leinster champions.
In our last match we were up against the unlucky Carlow. We beat them 6 2, with a great performance from Martin McGuinness who scored a well-deserved hat-trick. We won the blitz and are now the Leinster C section champions.
Report by Sodiq Jimoh.
On the way back from the Leinster final we were delighted. There were great cheers from the eight boys: Mark, Shane, Colin, Martin, Gareth, Glody, Sean, Sodiq and the two teacher and Dale. Everyone was snging. We were all wearing the jerseys we won and admiring our medals. We stopped for chips and burgers and had a great time. Colin made a movie on his phone, which we hope to put on the website.

Senior Cup Final in Dalymount Park
On Thurdsay 14th June in Dalymount Park St. Josephs played Ballyroan. The atmosphere was outstanding as the whole school came to support their team.
In the early stages of the match Gary Quinlivan had a header cleared off the line by a defender. Finally, the breakthrough came when Hardi Schampe ran onto a through ball by Glody Nsay and finished in style. Soon after Glody banged in another goal after Hardi chipped the ball over the top. The whistle blew for half time.
Joeys started the second half with determination and started racking up the goals: Glody got 3 more and Hardi got 1. Ballyroan did manage to break down Joeys very effective, tight defence and got 1 back. The game ended 6 1 to Joeys and then the celebrations began.
It has been an amazing year for the school and we are all very proud of our achievements.
