The Quiz Teams

Every year in St. Josephs the fifth and sixth classes get a chance to be on the Credit Union Quiz team. Mr. Malone makes sure that our school participates in it every year. We have a qualifying round in the school. In the qualifiers 8 students got through including myself. Then it was on to the Clondalkin round where we were split into 2 teams of 4: team A which was made up of Cade Ryan, Paul Power, Sean Kinsella adn Kevin Ryan; and team b which was made up of Eamonn Redmond, Robert Kiernan, Stephen Chapman and Jordan Brannigan. Team B won and team A came second! Unfortunately only the winner could go on to the Dublin, Kildare and Meath round. When the time came for the three-county round, we were really nervous but when it was finished we realized we had come second and were going to the All-Ireland Credit Union Schools quiz in the R.D.S.

Finally the anticipation was over, it was Sunday April first at 10.30 when we met in the R.D.S. We had to wait until 1.00, listening to music nervously, before the quiz began. Just before that we had our photograph taken with Anne O' Byrne and Brian Ormond. The quiz began and it was three hours long but we enjoyed ourselves and we were very proud of coming fourth in all of Ireland.
