Sports
Sport plays a central role in life at St. Joseph’s BNS. We believe that taking part in physical activity helps our pupils to stay healthy, develop new skills, build confidence, and enjoy being part of a team. Throughout the year, our boys have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of sporting activities and competitions.
Gaelic games are a proud tradition in our school. Our teams represent St. Joseph’s in local Cumann na mBunscol competitions, giving pupils the chance to experience the excitement of competitive matches and develop their skills. We are lucky to have strong links with our local GAA club, Round Towers, whose coaches work closely with us to promote Gaelic football and hurling.
Athletics is another important part of our sporting calendar. Pupils take part in training sessions and events such as cross-country and track competitions, developing fitness, resilience, and a love of running.
Soccer is also very popular among our pupils. Our school teams participate in local leagues and FAI competitions, enjoying both the challenge of competition and the camaraderie of playing together.
At St. Joseph’s, we value sport not only for the physical skills it develops, but also for the friendships, teamwork, and sense of school spirit it fosters.
