The halls of the RDS echoed with a truly spectacular sound as our very own Joeys Choir participated in this year’s Peace Proms. It was a day defined by scale, spirit, and the sheer joy of music, marking one of the most ambitious performances in our school’s recent history.
A Massive Musical Collaboration
The sheer magnitude of the event was breathtaking. Our students didn’t just perform; they became part of a massive 3,000-strong choir of primary school children. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with peers from across the country, the Joeys singers demonstrated incredible discipline and vocal talent.
The choir was accompanied by the world-class Peace Proms Orchestra, providing a professional symphonic backdrop that elevated the experience from a school concert to a world-class production.
An Electric Atmosphere
The energy in the RDS was palpable, with over 4,000 audience members filling the stands. For many of our students, performing for such a large crowd was a milestone moment. The roar of the applause and the sea of lights created an electric atmosphere that rewarded the weeks of dedicated rehearsals held in school.
Gratitude and Pride
An amazing day was had by all, and we would like to extend a massive “well done” to every student who represented the school so beautifully. We also want to thank the parents and staff whose support made this trip possible.
Events like the Peace Proms remind us of the vital role the arts play in our school community. We are already looking forward to the next time our choir takes to the stage!
